There is Nothing New Under the Sun

These past couple of weeks I’ve been dealing with the depression that often follows a major surgery…possibly a side effect of anesthesia. From all my reading it’s just a guess as to what causes it, but it’s quite common for many after a surgery. This morning I woke up feeling down and felt God prompting to read through the book of Ecclesiastes. I often find comfort in this book so I read it. Here’s a note I sent off to a friend this morning after reading Ecclesiastes:

Can You Laugh At Yourself?

Can you laugh at yourself? A couple of my coworkers and I were just talking about this the other day. Life seems easier to live if we can laugh at ourselves. A study done in 2011 came to the conclusion that if you can laugh at yourself it’s a good sign that you have an optimistic personality and a good sense of humor.
